Eastern Region
The Eastern Region of Honduras is one of the most wild and remote areas in all of Central America. Olancho
Olancho is the largest department in Honduras and one of the most sparsely populated. The department is dominated by vast pine forests, cloud forests, and tropical lowland forests. La Muralla National Park, located in northern Olancho, is one of the premier cloud forest birding sites in Honduras. Detailed birding information for this destination will be added soon.

La Mosquitia
La Mosquitia is the largest remaining tropical wilderness in Central America outside of the Amazon basin. The Río Plátano Biosphere Reserve, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, protects over 800,000 hectares of tropical rainforest, wetlands, and coastal lagoons.
